LSJ 2026 - Class Project Supporting SEA Community

Before

After: The goal!
The Leadership St. Johns Class of 2026 is supporting the SEA Community (Spuds, Elkton, Armstrong) of St. Johns County by rebuilding a food pantry distribution site that was destroyed by a fire in 2025. The site needs a small building with food storage facilities, including a commercial refrigerator and freezer.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to rebuild the structure and replace the appliances. In-kind donations of supplies, labor and materials are also welcome! To make an in-kind donation, please contact Kaneika Nimmons at kaneika.nimmons@chsfl.org.
About the Project
The LSJ Class of 2026 is supporting the SEA Community Help Resource Center by rebuilding a food distribution site structure. The shed will create usable, organized storage space for food for the community and will house a commercial refrigerator and deep freezer so residents can access perishable food as well. The project will entail purchasing and installing the shed and appliances, completing basic electrical and interior finishing work, and other necessary work to replace this critical community resource.
Why this matters:
This project goes beyond just replacing a building, shelves and appliances. It will improve stability and restore a food resource for the SEA Community, providing an immediate, tangible benefit to residents in need.
How you can help:
We are seeking business partners and community supporters to contribute through in-kind donations of materials and appliances and through financial gifts that will directly fund the project and accelerate completion. Your donation will help make this important resource available to the community as quickly as possible.
