St. Augustine, FL (August 13, 2019) –
On Friday, August 16 at 10:00 am, officials at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Zoo’s newest exhibit featuring Hoffman’s two-toed sloths named Teddy and Grizzly. Immediately following the ribbon-cutting, Sarah Patterson, Bird & Mammal Curator, will offer comments on this remarkable species and what the new additions will mean to the historic Alligator Farm. The new sloths—a male and a female—will then be released into their rainforest habitat. The event will conclude with a public celebration featuring sloth cupcakes and a special educational kiosk in operation until noon.
Media should make plans to attend the release of the rainforest sloths into their new exhibit at 10:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2019. The event will take place at The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, 999 Anastasia Boulevard, St. Augustine, FL, 32080.
