Chappell Schools announces the grand opening of their newest school in St. Johns County. The facility is on Longleaf Pine Parkway and will open on Monday, August 5, with a ribbon cutting and open house on Saturday, August 3. Jacksonville’s NBA superstar, Artis Gilmore, is slated to headline the event. Artis led Jacksonville University to the NCAA Championship game in 1970. The open house is open to the public from 9am to noon and will feature family friendly activities and food.
Chappell Longleaf is an ecological learning center certified as Eco-Healthy®. “The center will be conscious of Early Childhood nutrition and serve only organic milk, purified water, and fresh fruits and vegetables”, said Nancy Dreicer, Chappell CEO. “We will have gardens with each child eating something they grew during the school year, and we will visit with local hydroponic farms.”
Chappell Schools has a 60-year history in Jacksonville. Chappell’s strong curriculum is supported by trained teachers who use Hatch Technology® and the Sunform Alphabet System® to prepare the children and measure their progress individually. The schools use both the FrogStreet® and ELLM Plus® curriculums.
Chappell Longleaf will be supported by Chappell’s physical education, music, resource and reading specialist staff and will “make learning fun” for the children daily.
Chappell Longleaf will adhere strictly to DCF standards and have a state-of-the-art security system designed by Bates Security. The center will be kept pristine and uses only hospital-grade disinfecting systems pioneered by EcoLab®.
Chappell Longleaf will serve children from six weeks through VPK and will service six local elementary schools with before and after care, as well as a robust summer and holiday camp program.
The staff at Chappell Longleaf will be involved in center decision making, achieving standards and center policies as Chappell believes staff satisfaction directly transfers to child and parent satisfaction.
