In this workshop, retired Navy Capt. Thomas Clift will review the basics of an artificial intelligence (AI) system and share examples and more in-depth resources on AI systems with participants.
Clift will also discuss organizations that are using AI and how it influences their businesses and impacts customers. Clift served as the second senior officer on the pre-commissioning unit of the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, which was launched in 1980. The world’s first AI-based command and control system for a carrier and battle group were developed for the USS Carl Vinson prior to its commissioning in 1982.
Since his retirement from the Navy in 1984, Clift has consulted in the United States and Southeast Asia, and has taught several programming, business and math courses.
