Stop the Stigma
The St. Johns County Poly-Drug Task Force will host Stop the Stigma St. Augustine from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28th in front of the St. Augustine City Hall, 75 King St.
This community event aims to raise awareness of the stigma associated with substance use and to remember loved ones lost to overdose deaths. The event is part of International Overdose Awareness Day. The event will highlight guest speakers and community resources; provide a prescription medication drop-off point, registration for Narcan training and host a candle-light remembrance ceremony. Family members and friends are invited to email photos of loved ones to letsremember2019@gmail.com for a digital memorial. This event is an opportunity for the community to come together to help effect changes.
