Financial Wellness: Fraud, Scams & Spoofing
The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us Friday, October 23, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. for the third in a three-part series of financial wellness workshops.
Part III of the financial workshop series will focus on protecting your business from fraud, scams and spoofing. Drawing upon his 30+ years of law enforcement experience as a Secret Service agent and Deputy with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, Bobby Fultz, Fraud Investigation Manager with VyStar Credit Union will provide an update on the current types of fraud and scams perpetrated against businesses, consumers and individuals. Learn from case studies of successful attempts to defraud businesses as well as successful fraud investigations. Mr. Fultz will also share tips on how you can protect yourself and your business from falling prey to financial crimes.
Discussion topics will include:- Loan Scams, including CARES Act and PPP loans;
- Email and/or Telephone Spoofs;
- Online Job Scams;
- Utility and Vendor Scams;
- Romance Scams; and
- Current Fraud Alerts and Financial Crimes.
This workshop is brought to you as a collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce and VyStar Credit Union. We believe that businesses and individuals who are financially fit are more productive.
