SUMMARY:The Forde Firm Open House
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an Open House on May 15\, 2023 as we celebrate our clients\, vendors and friends who have supported us through the years. Along with our celebration\, we will be honoring Robert Forde\, the son of Linda Forde\, who is graduating High School as Salutatorian a year early and will begin his new journey in honors college at Florida State University this fall.\n\n\n\nAs you may know\, Robert had quite a journey. Four years ago\, he was diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma which is a brain tumor on his pituitary gland. His tumor caused hydrocephalus and he had to have a special shunt called an ommaya reservoir. The ommaya reservoir drained the tumor's cysts and stabilized him so that he could undergo radiation to kill the tumor. By the time Robert had gone through treatment he had limited peripheral vision caused by the hydrocephalus\, decreased processing speed\, and several hormone issues that would cause him to have to take medications for the rest of his life.\n\n\n\nThe treatment ensured that Robert would live but also caused damage that would forever change his life. After all of this we did not know if he would be able to go on to live the life we had once imagined. We were unsure if he would be able to learn how to drive\, be able to go off to college or work in his dream job of being an engineer. After four long years\, Robert is graduating high school a year early\, has learned how to drive despite his vision\, and is going to Florida State University to study Biomedical Engineering in August. This would not have been possible without the support of his doctors\, teachers\, family\, and friends through everything Robert has gone through.\n\nStop by anytime between 10 - 1 pm at our office\, meet our team and send off Robert in style! We will have some delicious treats by Cake & Cookie Art by Janine\, appetizers\, light refreshments and exciting raffle prizes!
