  • Politics in St. Johns is a large political gathering hosted by the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. It is designed as a fun educational evening aimed at connecting candidates running for office with members of the community. The event will feature the candidates, candidate informational booths, and candidate introductions. The event is open to all Chamber members, guests and members of the general public free of charge. 

     

    This is a great opportunity for candidates in all contested races to get in front of St. Johns County voters prior to the August 23 Primary and the November 8 General Election.

    Wednesday, July 27, 2022

    5 - 7 p.m. Event (Note: Candidate display set up period at 4 - 5 p.m.)

    Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A N, Ponte Vedra Beach

     

    Registration:

    • Space is limited. All Candidates who wish to participate must register online
    • Following registration – the names of participating candidates may appear in event promotions

    Costs:

    • Candidates can register to reserve a dedicated Display Space for $250 (Or $400 for both Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine events) where they can display campaign marketing materials and decorations to promote their candidacy.
    • Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be available for purchase onsite via a cash bar provided by our site host.

    Candidate Booths

    • Candidates and campaign staff can begin setting up booths at 3:30 p.m. on July 27 and should plan to have their booths set up no later than 5 p.m.
    • A site plan of the event site will be provided to all registered candidates.
    • Candidates are encouraged to decorate campaign signage, balloons, campaign marketing materials, etc…
    • Candidates may also bring background panels or self supported signage to stand behind their tables, but are responsible for the set up and removal of all framing.
    • Candidates are responsible for removing their signs and materials from the event site at the conclusion of the event.

    Campaign Signs & Lapel Stickers

    • Candidates are invited to bring extra Campaign Signs and Campaign Lapel Stickers to the event. Supporters may want to carry signs away from the event. Volunteers and candidates can offer lapel stickers to guests and supporters at the event who desire to show their support.

    Payment/Registration

    • Online registration is preferred, however, candidates or campaign committees who prefer to issue an official campaign check for registration, please call 904-829-5681 to make arrangements for this accommodation.
    • Reservations are not complete until payment and all paperwork is received.

    5 - 7 p.m. Event (Note: Candidate booth set up period at 4:00-5:00 p.m.)

    Solomon Calhoun Center, 1300 Duval Street, St. Augustine, Florida

     

    Registration:

    • All Candidates who wish to participate must register online.
    • Following registration – the names of participating candidates may appear in event promotions

    Costs:

    • Candidates registering for a Candidate Booth will receive a dedicated display space, table, and folding chairs for $250 (or $400 for both Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine events).
    • One candidate per table. Two additional campaign staff are allowed at the space.

    Candidate Booths

    • Candidates and campaign staff can begin setting up booths at 3:30 p.m. on August 11 and should plan to have their booths set up no later than 5:00 p.m.
    • A site plan of the event site will be provided to all registered candidates.
    • Candidates are encouraged to decorate campaign signage, balloons, campaign marketing materials, etc…

    • Candidates are invited and encouraged to bring extra campaign yard signs to be placed along the entrance to the Solomon Calhoun Center event site. Candidates may bring extra signs to distribute to supporters as they leave the event, as this event may also serve as a helpful distribution site. Candidates are responsible for picking up all yard signs from the event site.
    • Candidates are invited to bring Campaign Lapel Stickers to the event. Candidates can offer lapel stickers to guests and supporters at the event who desire to show their support.

    Parking

    • Parking is available for candidates at the event site in a large parking lot directly adjacent to the Solomon Calhoun Center, near the Little League baseball fields.
    • No parking is allowed in the Solomon Calhoun Center entrance roundabout. Loading and unloading please.
