The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership St. Johns (LSJ) Class of 2022 is excited to announce a scholarship for current members or alumni of THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club in St. Augustine up to $1,500 to attend First Coast Technical College (FCTC). This exciting opportunity is through the generosity and legacy of the Leadership St. Johns Class of 2022. Applications may be submitted for upcoming enrollment periods on a rolling basis and as funds are available.

Culver’s delights guests with ButterBurgers, Fresh Frozen Custard, and Wisconsin Cheese Curds at over 900 restaurants nationwide—and the location in St. Augustine, Florida, is being recognized as one of the chain’s top five. The St. Augustine Culver’s has been named a Gold Finalist in the annual Culver’s Crew Challenge, which will crown a winner in January 2024.

St. Johns County Administrator Joy Andrews shared her “Charting Performance” presentation to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) during its Nov. 21 regular meeting to introduce a new organizational chart and other key changes that reflect the County’s dedication to innovation and responsive governance. Andrews made history on Oct. 31, becoming the first female County Administrator in the history of St. Johns County.

The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce held its CELEBRATE Annual Awards Ceremony Wednesday night, November 15, 2023, where various business leaders who made their mark in the community this year were recognized. The event, which over 200 guests attended, was held at the Treasury on the Plaza in historic St. Augustine. Six business leaders were recognized for their dedication to St. Johns County and the community in which they live.

The Florida Department of Commerce has just released the October 2023 employment report. The Jacksonville MSA had an unemployment rate of 3.1%, which was up slightly from September. St. Johns County increased from 2.7 percent to 2.8 percent. Of the 917,972 people counted as part of the area's workforce in October, there were 28,625 unemployed residents in the region – up slightly from 28,090 unemployed residents in September.
