The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has announced that the unemployment rate for the Jacksonville region increased slightly from 2.5 percent in February 2023 to 2.6 percent in March 2023. Of the 885,920 people counted as part of the area's workforce in March, there were 23,187 unemployed residents in the region – up from 22,425 unemployed residents in February.

Comcast is accelerating the nation’s largest and fastest multi-gig deployment and announced that its Xfinity 10G Network upgrade has launched to nearly 800 homes and businesses in St. Johns County. St. Johns County is the latest community in Florida to roll out these network enhancements, setting the stage for the introduction of new symmetrical multi-gigabit Internet options that can be delivered across Comcast’s existing networks at less cost.

The St. Johns County School District recently held a College and Career Fair at St. Augustine High School. Students and parents in attendance were able to visit with college recruiters, employers, and representatives from government agencies. In addition to the fair, a series of workshops were also held. They included topics like “Paths to Careers in Aviation”, “STEM Careers in Transportation”, “Resume Writing”, and “Dual Enrollment and Secondary Enrollment Options”.
