FPL's Innovation Hub Taking Applications, Helps Entrepreneurs

    Calling All Startups!

Florida Power and Light’s Innovation Hub, 35 Mules, is now taking applications for its next class of recruits. The 35 Mules innovation hub helps entrepreneurs develop their innovative, technologically driven ideas into a business based in Florida, further supporting the state’s economic growth, and building its business ecosystem. The program helps startups and entrepreneurs grow their businesses with a $100,000 non-dilutive (no equity) cash grant, access to Fortune 200 subject matter experts across FPL and NextEra Energy, a rent-free workspace, and more.

Named for the 35 mules, along with the ice plant and sponge boat used to start FPL in the 1930s, 35 Mules extends parent NextEra Energy Inc.’s economic development effort in place for almost a decade. Over the past decade, the company has transformed itself and its sectors, from global leadership in renewable energy and battery storage to the technology space with cybersecurity and its preeminent drone program.

The incubator is one of the ways FPL continues to demonstrate its commitment to growing and fostering businesses in Florida, both new and existing. The program offers new businesses the opportunity to reach their potential as they partner with a leader in the energy industry, creating the next generation of great innovators right here in Florida.

The application runs from Feb. 1 to March 17.  Apply Here
